Astarion cosplay guide: coat, camp outfit, wig, fangs and makeup
Astarion cosplays succeed or fail on three things: the coat, the hair, and the teeth. The costume itself is straightforward compared to the armour builds in Baldur's Gate 3 — it is the styling that carries the character.

Choose your outfit first
Astarion has two widely cosplayed looks. His adventuring outfit is the ornate one — a dark red or wine-coloured doublet with gold brocade trim, structured shoulders and wide cuffs, worn over a cream ruffled shirt with dark trousers and knee-high boots. His camp outfit is the plain version: a loose top and trousers, no brocade, no structure.

The wig
Astarion's hair is pale silver-white, voluminous, swept back and deliberately messy. A lace-front wig in pure white or pale silver-blonde is the usual starting point. The styling sequence matters: tease or crimp the roots for volume first, train the front sections to sweep back and away from the face, then cut soft layers and texturise so it looks dishevelled rather than helmet-like.
Fangs
Do not buy one-size Halloween fangs. They pop out when you speak and make the character hard to perform. Thermal-moulding fangs use a bead that softens in hot water and moulds to your own canine teeth, which stay in place through a full day of talking and photos. Practise speaking and smiling in them at home first.
Makeup
- Foundation one to two shades paler than your natural tone, cool-toned. Avoid pure white stage paint — he is a pale elf, not a ghost.
- Contour hard. The character is defined by hollow cheeks and a sharp jaw. Use a cool grey-brown contour, not a warm one.
- Brows thin and sharply arched. Conceal your natural brow shape and draw a finer one.
- Eyes in soft reds, plums or dark greys, smudged under the lower lash line for a tired, aristocratic look.
- Amber or red cosmetic contacts complete it — from a certified supplier, with the usual wear-time precautions.
- Lips muted berry or rose, with a little dark tint at the centre if you want the just-fed edge.

Do I need fangs to cosplay Astarion?
They are the single highest-impact accessory for how little they cost. Winged eyeliner and the hair get you most of the way there, but the fangs are what make people read him as a vampire rather than just a pale elf.
